Who We Are

We are first and foremost passionate caretakers of the animals we serve in our shelter and in our communities.  We are a small shelter with a big heart. We are tenacious – our care for the animals is paramount as we continue to move forward with our critical facility renovation efforts.​We are an open-admissions shelter, we welcome all animals from our service city partners without regard to their breed, age, medical condition, or other criteria.  Serving the San Gabriel Valley since 1924, our current service city partners are San Gabriel and Temple City.​We are a group of dedicated staff and volunteers who believe our animals have no expiration date – every life matters.  Each animal has a name and a story.  Each animal deserves a loving forever home.  We love and care for them until that home is found. We are an independent 501(c)3 nonprofit organization, our tax ID (EIN) is 95-1661090.  We are not affiliated with The Humane Society of the United States, the ASPCA, or any other organization. As a donor-supported organization, we are heavily reliant on donations from the public to support our shelter facility and our programs.
